There are two main ferry options, each offering a unique experience: the ferry from Mackinaw City and the one from St. Ignace. We took the one from St. Ignace, which we will focus on in this guide.

The ride is a memorable experience, especially if you select the Mighty Mac departure, which takes you under the Mackinac Bridge. There are only a few of these daily, so check which ferries will go under the bridge when you book online.
Upon arrival at Mackinac Island’s bustling docks, you’ll step off the ferry into a world that feels wonderfully removed from the everyday rush. The island’s charm greets you immediately, with horse-drawn carriages and bicycles waiting to help you start your own adventure.

Mackinac Island Carriage Tour
